Bosch Inverter Ducted Split System Air-Source Heat Pump May Save Homeowners Hundreds of Dollars on Energy Bills
- Inverter technology enables the unit to operate more efficiently to any output level between 25-110 percent, matching compressor speed with cooling/heating load
- Up to 18 Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) and 9.5 HSPF means high-efficiency with energy cost-savings
- Silent blade technology reduces condensing unit sound levels to as low as 56dB
- Compatible with most available heat pump thermostats
Londonderry, New Hampshire – Bosch Thermotechnology Corp. has released its first ever air-source heat pump system, employing a high energy efficiency rating that could save homeowners up to hundreds of dollars a year on heating and cooling bills. The new Bosch Inverter Ducted Split Air-Source Heat Pump System with Inverter Drive Technology helps ensure that indoor air remains at the selected temperature, but at a lower cost than traditional HVAC systems. Units are currently available for sale.
By employing variable speed inverter drive technology, the new air-source heat pump is highly energy efficient, achieving a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) of up to 18 and a 9.5 Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF). It accomplishes the high rating by varying operating speeds depending on cooling and heating load rather than simply turning the unit on and off.
In addition, both the indoor and outdoor units are much quieter than traditional models. Thanks to an insulated compressor compartment and its new silent blade technology, the outdoor condensing unit reduces sound levels to as low as 56dB.
The Bosch Inverter Ducted Split Air-Source Heat Pump System comes in both three- and five-ton capacities, yet remains extremely compact. Both sizes are compatible with most heat pump thermostats and feature a unique dehumidification feature. To ensure easy product selection and less inventory for distributors, Bosch covers the entire residential product range with only two models of condenser units (3 and 5-ton) and four sizes of air handler units (ranging from 2-5 tons).
In addition, the indoor air handler comes standard for upflow applications and is field-convertible for horizontal right, left or downflow/counterflow configuration, satisfying all types of applications. Condensing units come standard with electronic expansion valve (EEV), ensuring proper refrigerant flow during all conditions for the highest possible efficiency. The indoor air handler unit incorporates a constant torque ECM motor, suitable for different static pressure applications.
Warranty on the new Bosch Inverter Ducted Split Air-Source Heat pumps are 10 years limited warranty on compressor and internal components (excluding labor cost).
